Robert LiGrisse - Online Memorial Website

     Robert W. “Bobby” LiGrisse, Jr., 68, of Peoria, passed away at 3:47 p.m., on Friday, February 13, 2009, at Bel-Wood Nursing Home in Peoria County.

     Bobby was born in Peoria on March 25, 1940, son of Robert W. and Beatrice (Douglas) LiGrisse, Sr. He Married Crystal I. Roos on December 28, 1957 in Corinth, MS. They were later divorced. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Patricia Ann Wilson; great grandson, Ashton; and son-in-law, Jimmy.

     He is survived by his mother, Beatrice, of Peoria; daughters, Diane (Lou) Fyock of Geneva, FL, Elaine Allen of Bartonville, Crystal (Roger) Wells of Peoria and Cathy (Dan) Beaird of Canton; son, Robert W. LiGrisse III of Washington, IL; sisters, Norma Jean (Robert) Joos of Edwards and Caryl (William) Morgan of Germantown, TN; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

     Bobby was a Heavy Equipment Operator, retiring from the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #965.

     He loved woodworking, fishing, hunting, riding his Harley-Davidson, working toward earning his pilot’s license, camping and just about any other outdoor activity. He also enjoyed listening to Country music, including Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, and collecting coins and woodworking tools.

     Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2009, at Clary Funeral Home in Peoria. Graveside services and interment will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.

     Memorial contributions may be made in Bobby’s memory to the Center for Prevention of Abuse in Peoria.
